Ingredients

  • 🍴190 gm urad dal
  • 🍴8 green cardamom
  • 🍴190 gm sugar
  • 🍴15 ml ghee
  • 🍴190 gm powdered jaggery
  • 🍴water as required

For Garnishing

  • 🍴grated coconut as required

Instructions

  • 🍴Take urad dal in a bowl, add water and soak the dal overnight. Meanwhile, grind cardamom to a fine powder in a grinder.
  • 🍴Drain the excess water from the dal. Next, place a frying pan over medium flame and add ghee to it. After the ghee is heated, add the soaked dal in the pan and fry it. Stir the dal continuously to make a paste. Keep this aside.
  • 🍴Now, place another frying pan over medium heat and add sugar and jaggery into it. Heat the ingredients to make a syrup of two-string consistency.
  • 🍴Add urad dal paste to this syrup and mix well. Add cardamom powder to this and mix again.
  • 🍴Now grease your palms with a little ghee and make small round balls of the mixture. Garnish the laddus with grated coconut. Your urad dal laddus are now ready.
