Ingredients
- 🍴1 1/4 cup tomato
- 🍴4 tablespoon coriander leaves
- 🍴2 teaspoon sugar
- 🍴1 cup onion
- 🍴8 curry leaves
- 🍴2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 🍴2 cup semolina
- 🍴1 teaspoon salt
- 🍴2 teaspoon chili powder
- 🍴2 teaspoon split black gram
- 🍴4 tablespoon refined oil
Instructions
- 🍴Chop tomatoes, coriander leaves and onions on a chopping board. Keep them aside for further usage. With the help of a mixer grinder, grind the chopped tomatoes in a paste.
- 🍴Heat refined oil in a deep bottomed pan kept on medium flame and add mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves in it. Saute them for at least 30 seconds.
- 🍴Stir in onions and saute them until they turn into a translucent color and then add semolina to it. Saute semolina for about 4-5 minutes.
- 🍴To the same pan with the semolina mixture add the prepared tomato pulp, chili powder, salt, sugar and coriander. Mix the ingredients well for about 2 minutes.
- 🍴Add hot water to the pan and cover it with a lid. Allow the upma to be cooked for at least 3-4 minutes. Serve.
