Ingredients

  • 🍴2 1/2 cup pureed spinach
  • 🍴1 pinch asafoetida
  • 🍴2 teaspoon sugar
  • 🍴1 1/2 cup pigeon peas
  • 🍴2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 🍴1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 🍴2 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 🍴salt as required
  • 🍴5 green chilies
  • 🍴1 1/2 teaspoon fruit salt
  • 🍴refined oil as required
  • 🍴curry leaves as required

Instructions

  • 🍴To make this recipe, soak the dal for 6-7 hours. Then put this soaked dal along with yoghurt in a blender to make a fine paste. Take out the mixture in a bowl and keep it aside.
  • 🍴Now, transfer the mixture to a bowl and add spinach puree, asafoetida, chopped green chillies, lemon juice, salt, sugar, fruit salt. Mix thoroughly.
  • 🍴Next, grease the dhokla tray with oil and pour the batter in it and put the tray into a steamer. Steam it for 6-7 minutes. Once it is cooked carefully remove the prepared dhokla from the steamer. Cut into desired shapes.
  • 🍴Take a small kadhai and add oil to it. Once the oil is heated add mustard seeds, chillies and curry leaves. Stir for a while and add the dhokla pieces. Your Spinach Dhokla is ready to eat. Serve hot with any chutney of your choice.
