Ingredients
- 🍴1 tablespoon cornflour
- 🍴2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 🍴2 tablespoon refined oil
- 🍴1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 🍴1 green chilli
- 🍴1/2 teaspoon salt
- 🍴1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 🍴2 cup milk
- 🍴1 cup green peas
- 🍴1 pinch asafoetida
- 🍴1 teaspoon green chilli paste
- 🍴1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 🍴1 dry red chilli
- 🍴1 teaspoon garlic paste
Instructions
- 🍴Pressure cook the peas for 2 whistles
To make this recipe, wash green peas and pressure cook them with some water for 2 whistles. After 2 whistles, let it cool and allow a standing time of 2 minutes.
- 🍴Prepare the mawa
To make mawa, dissolve cornflour in 1/2 cup milk and keep aside. Now, put a kadhai over medium flame and add the remaining milk in it and let it boil. After a boil, add lemon juice and when it comes to curdling, add the cornflour mixture and stir continuously on low flame till it becomes thick and the colour changes into brown. Your mawa is ready and keep aside.
- 🍴Prepare the tadka
Put another kadhai over medium flame and heat oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add asafoetida, green chilli, dry red chilli, ginger and garlic paste, coriander powder, garam masala and saute for a few seconds. Then, add boiled green peas, mawa, salt and enough water in it. Mix well and cook for 5 to 7 minutes till the gravy becomes thick.
