- 🍴Cook tomatoes and onions and blend to form a smooth tomato puree
To make this scrumptious recipe, take a saucepan and add tomatoes, onions, and ginger to it. Add a three-fourth cup of water to the saucepan and mix everything well. Over high heat, bring the mixture to boil for about 5 to 6 minutes, then turn off the heat. Allow the mixture to cool. Once cooled, blend the mixture thoroughly using an electric food processor to make a smooth puree. Strain the puree using a sieve to remove fiber or unwanted particles and keep it aside.
- 🍴Saute green peas and cumin seeds
In a deep bottomed pan, start heating butter. Once the butter melts, add cumin seeds to it. Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add green peas and salt to them. Saute the mixture for a while and add some drizzles of water to cook the mixture well. Turn off the heat and remove the green peas mixture from the pan and keep it aside.

To the same pan, add tomato puree mixture and two and a half cups of water. Over medium to high heat, bring the mixture to boil. Add sugar, red chili powder, and adjust the salt according to your taste. Reduce the heat to low and let the soup cook for another one to two minutes. Then, turn off the flame and stir in the sauteed green peas (Step 2) to the soup. Pour the shorba into 5 soup bowls equally and garnish with coriander leaves.
