Ingredients

  • 🍴1 1/2 cup rice
  • 🍴1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 🍴2 tablespoon chana dal
  • 🍴1 teaspoon cumin
  • 🍴1/4 cup raw peanuts
  • 🍴1 Pinches turmeric
  • 🍴1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 🍴2 tablespoon refined oil
  • 🍴1/4 cup urad dal
  • 🍴salt as required
  • 🍴1 handful curry leaves
  • 🍴4 green chilies
  • 🍴1 inch ginger

Instructions

  • 🍴Wash and soak rice

Wash and soak rice and urad dal separately for 2-3 hours. Take a vessel and add rice along with water, cook the rice. Drain the water and keep it aside.

  • 🍴Saute the masala

Take a pan and heat it over medium flame and add some oil. Once the oil is hot enough, add in mustard seeds, salt, red chilies, cumin seeds, red chilies, pinches, curry leaves, ginger, sauté nicely. Next, add in urad dal and peanuts.

Lastly, add in the cooked rice, green chilies, lemon zest, and some water, toss the dish nicely. Cover the lid and cook for some time. Transfer to a plate and enjoy.
