Ingredients
- 🍴2 cup grated carrot
- 🍴1/2 tablespoon minced ginger
- 🍴salt as required
- 🍴3 tablespoon thick sour curd
- 🍴3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 🍴6 green chili
- 🍴1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 🍴1/2 cup chana dal
- 🍴1 pinch powdered turmeric
- 🍴1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 🍴2 tablespoon refined oil
- 🍴1 handful coriander leaves
- 🍴4 tablespoon grated coconut
Instructions
- 🍴To prepare this dish, take a bowl with water and soak the chana dal in it for half an hour. Then, grind it in a mixer into a smooth paste.
- 🍴In a separate bowl, beat sour curd properly and add baking soda to it. Add the mixture to the dal paste. Keep aside for a few hours.
- 🍴Now add grated carrot, coconut and coriander leaves, chilies, ginger, turmeric powder, sugar, and salt to the dal and curd mixture. Mix thoroughly and the dhokla batter is ready.
- 🍴Next, pour the batter onto a greased plate/container and steam for around 15 minutes. Then, remove and let it cool down.
- 🍴Once cooled down, cut the dhokla into small square pieces.
- 🍴Heat some oil in a pan over medium flame and the mustard seeds to it and let them splutter. Then, add the sliced green chillies to it. Once done, pour this tempering over the dhokla.
- 🍴Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut. Serve.
