Ingredients

  • 🍴500 gm bitter gourd
  • 🍴1 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 🍴1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 🍴1 1/2 cup mustard oil
  • 🍴1 teaspoon salt
  • 🍴1 teaspoon red chili powder

Instructions

  • 🍴To prepare this amazing snack recipe, wash the bitter gourds and pat them dry. Then, cut them into thin slices and discard the seeds. Make sure that you do not peel the karela as this will impact its taste.
  • 🍴Next, put a kadhai over medium flame and heat mustard oil in it. Once the oil is hot enough, add the bitter gourd slices in small batches and deep fry them until golden brown in colour. Remove and drain excess oil.
  • 🍴Strain the extra oil and transfer these chips to a plate lined with a kitchen towel to soak the extra oil. Afterwards, sprinkle salt, black pepper and red chilli powder. Toss well and serve hot.
