Ingredients

  • 🍴125 gm beetroot
  • 🍴salt as required
  • 🍴water as required
  • 🍴1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 🍴1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 🍴1 1/2 tablespoon cornflour
  • 🍴1 1/2 tablespoon butter

For The Main Dish

  • 🍴1 tablespoon onion
  • 🍴1 tablespoon coriander leaves
  • 🍴1 cup milk

Instructions

  • 🍴Take a bowl and add cornflour and 1/2 cup milk to it. Mix it well and put a pan on medium flame, add this milk-flour mixture in the pan and start boiling it. Keep stirring it till it becomes a little thick.
  • 🍴On the other hand, take a chopping board and chop the beetroot and onion on it. Next, place a deep-bottomed pan on low flame and add the chopped beets and onion in it along with water. You can add butter to the pan as well to increase the flavour. Let the beets boil on low flame for 10 minutes and make sure you do not over-boil the beetroot mix.
  • 🍴Then, add the remaining milk, salt, black pepper powder, sugar and water to the pan. Stir continuously for a 2-5 minutes. Lastly, pour the beetroot mix to the pan and bring it to boil. Cover the lid for about 30 minutes or so.
  • 🍴Once boiled, turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot!
